Biography

Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin is an economist with more than 30 years of experience in international finance and development. He currently serves as the United Nations Special Envoy on Financing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. He has previously served as Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund, Senior Vice President at the World Bank, and Minister of Investment of Egypt.

Dr. Mohieldin is a Professor of Economics and Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, where he has been a member of faculty for almost 30 years. He also sits on a number of academic and institutional boards and has served as a visiting professor at several international universities.
